In partnership with the Albertine Rift Conservation Society (ARCOS), we are proud to contribute to the MuLaKiLa Project, an initiative aimed at combating climate change impacts and promoting resilient agricultural systems in Rwanda’s Rutsiro and Ngororero Districts. Launched on March 23, 2023, this ambitious project seeks to restore approximately 20,000 hectares of degraded land by planting over 4.5 million indigenous perennial trees and an additional 5 million fast-growing trees and shrubs over a 30-year period.
This effort is projected to benefit more than 40,000 farming households, enhancing both environmental sustainability and community livelihoods. Our collaboration focuses on establishing sustainable agroforestry value chains, integrating species such as avocado and coffee to bolster timber, tea, and coffee production.
Through comprehensive training programs and the formation of community groups like the Friends of Nature Associations (FNAs), we aim to promote sustainable land management practices,
and increase household incomes.
This partnership exemplifies our commitment to environmental stewardship and community development.
